Hi wl I bought them both from the Goverment supported stores in New Delhi. Its a large store which quarentees fare prices direct to the makers involved and helps suuport local craft communities (another bonus is that the prices are fixed so no haggling, makes things much easier if you are shopping during a brief lunch hour having escaped work!) The green one has Kashmiri embroidery onto a cashmere and wool mix ground, the pale grey one has a cruder wool embroidery onto a felted wool ground. keep the comments coming, always great to get feedback, Tim
thanks tim ! definitely will keep a look out for such government-supported stores if I head to new delhi one day. it's always great to support local craftsmen.
click on any location, or favorites for an overall snap shot, comments always welcome.
suitcase confessions is an archive of all the things that i have brought back from my travels over the years. It was prompted by my habit of photographing everything that i unpacked from my trip on my bed before i put it away. It has expanded in this blog to follow these items and to document their ultimate use and impact in my home .
Any ideas, collaborations, projects or clients please feel free to contact me.
a frustrated minimalist, who like things too much to stick to his convictions and so over clutters ever space!
